June 9, 2025: CAFTA’s agri-food exporters believe that the unanimous decision to send Bill C-202 to the Senate in a new Parliament, without consulting affected stakeholders is troublesome. The bill undermines Canada’s reputation as a reliable trading partner and threatens our credibility at a time of growing global uncertainty.

June 2, 2025: The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) is urging Members of Parliament and Senators to reject Bill C-202, a Bloc Québécois Private Member’s Bill that would handcuff Canada’s trade negotiators and undermine Canada’s trade policy.

March 10, 2025: The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) raised concerns today about the Chinese government’s decision to impose retaliatory tariffs on Canadian agri-food commodities. China is an important market for agri-food exports and new Chinese tariffs will hurt Canadian farmers and the broader value chain.
