“Our board brings together leaders from across Canada’s agri-food export sectors with a shared commitment to open markets and rules-based trade,” said Greg Northey, president of CAFTA. “As Canada works to strengthen its trading relationships and diversify its exports, we will continue pressing for agriculture and agri-food to be at the forefront of Canada’s trade agenda.”
CAFTA’s advocacy includes addressing tariff and non-tariff barriers that prevent exporters from realizing the full benefits of Canada’s existing trade agreements.
“Canada’s success as an agri-food trading country supports jobs, strengthens food security and helps keep food affordable,” said Michael Harvey, executive director of CAFTA. “With the board’s guidance, we will continue advocating for open and predictable access to global markets.”
